The Colony is a different scale of project. 4,600 acres of gated mountain land at the top of Park City. Lots that measure in acres, homes that measure in dozens of rooms, builds that measure in years. The technology brief is unusual: not one cinema but two, often three. Not a single sim room but a sim room and a sim racing room and a separate game-room loft for the kids. Not one rack but a server room with a UPS and a fiber drop and a redundant network.
Techi works on these estates from the framing stage. We pre-wire for the cinema that might or might not get built, the hobby barn that will get built in phase two, the guest cottage that gets added in year four. We design the racks with twice the capacity the homeowner thinks they need, because the homeowner always changes their mind. We coordinate with the GC, the AV designer, the lighting designer, the security consultant, the property manager, and the family office.
Most importantly: we plan for service. A Colony estate that doesn’t have a same-day-response service team in Park City is an estate with a frustrated property manager and a homeowner who only sees the place six weekends a year. White-glove service plans aren’t optional at this scale — they’re the whole point.
